AREAS OF WORK
RESEARCH
Investigate questions about people, experiences, processes, programs, organizations, and the contexts and systems in which they operate. IIP uses interdisciplinary inquiry to build a deeper understanding of how interpersonal, group, organizational, and systemic factors interact to shape experiences and outcomes.
Research may involve needs assessment, survey design, interviews, focus groups, naturalistic observation, qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method inquiry, secondary research, and evidence synthesis.
EVALUATION
Examine how programs and initiatives are working, what they are achieving, how they are experienced, and how outcomes differ across people and contexts. IIP designs evaluation strategy and methods, collects and analyzes data, and interprets findings in context to understand what should be sustained, reconsidered, refined, or investigated further.
Evaluation may involve qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method designs; surveys, interviews, focus groups, and observation; and data analysis, synthesis, and interpretation.
PROGRAM & LEARNING
Use research and evaluation to inform the ideas, frameworks, content, and intended outcomes that underpin programs and learning. IIP develops and strengthens research-informed programs and learning experiences, using ongoing evaluation to guide refinement in practice. The aim is to connect evidence, context, and intended outcomes so programs and learning are grounded in a clear rationale.
This work may involve conceptual frameworks, theories of change, logic models, program strategy and development, learning design and content, professional education, and research-to-practice translation.
ENGAGEMENT MODELS
FOCUSED PROJECTS
A defined question, need, or problem with a specific scope and timeframe. Projects may involve research, evaluation, evidence synthesis, program or learning development, or a combination of these.
LONGER ENGAGEMENTS
Multi-phase work that benefits from continuity across research, development, implementation, and evaluation. The scope may evolve as findings generate new questions or priorities.
ADVISORY ENGAGEMENTS
Intellectual and analytical support for organizations navigating complex questions or developing a body of work over time. This may include research guidance, evidence interpretation, conceptual development, and critical review.
HAVE SOMETHING DIFFERENT IN MIND?
Not every engagement fits neatly within a model. If the work aligns with IIP’s areas of expertise, we can discuss what partnership structure makes sense.
